Eligibility and Who Can Apply

What types of jewellery brands can apply? Is it limited to Middle East companies only?

Our flagship units primarily prioritize jewellery brands and traders from Gulf countries and the broader Arab region, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. We welcome applicants with valid business registration, stable gold raw material supply capabilities, and strong alignment with the vision of China Arab cultural exchange. Jewellery brands outside the Middle East may also apply if there is a strong partnership intent, subject to case by case evaluation and alignment with the project overall cultural positioning.

What business types are accepted for supporting retail units? Are jewellery retail stores allowed?

Supporting retail units do not accept any retail formats that directly compete with the core jewellery business, such as other gold shops or jewellery stores. We prioritize four categories of service providers:

1) Cross border business services: interpretation, customs clearance, logistics, business travel

2) Lifestyle and cultural fit: halal dining, cafés, convenience retail, cultural and creative products

3) Digital and marketing enablement: livestreaming, e commerce operations, short video production

4) Comprehensive support: legal, finance, vehicle rental, security and managed storage

All applications are reviewed by the operations team to ensure ecosystem synergy.

Costs, Fit Out, and Delivery

Are units delivered as shell and core or fitted out? What is the fit out standard?

  • Main jewellery stores (120 m² / 240 m²): delivered with a basic fit out, including flooring, wall finishes, lighting, air conditioning, fire safety systems, and basic display counter positions. Merchants can add brand specific customization on top.

Supporting service units (120 m²): delivered with a unified basic fit out, including floor leveling, white painted walls, doors and windows, and reserved MEP and network interfaces. Merchants do not need to bear the base fit out cost and only need to add soft furnishings and fit out elements required by their business type. Fit out plans are subject to review and approval by the project operating company.

Besides rent, what other fees are required?

We apply a transparent fee structure. In addition to rent, merchants are responsible for:

  1. Fixed fees: property management fee (including common area cleaning, security, and shared utilities).
  2. Usage based fees: electricity, water, and network charges (billed by actual consumption).
  3. Variable fees:
    1. Main stores: annual service fee based on actual transaction volume (Flagship Store 2%, Boutique Store 4%).
    1. Supporting service providers: 4% annual revenue share on transaction turnover. If turnover targets are met, a 0.2% to 0.5% reduction may apply.
  4. Optional fees: value added service packages can be purchased as needed for additional marketing and promotion.

Note: routine operations management, cross border facilitation, and multilingual customer support are included in the cooperation package and are not charged separately.

Operations Management and Support

As a Middle East brand, do we need to station staff in Zhongshan long term?

No. We offer a fully managed operating model:

  • Merchants are responsible for product supply and brand authorization, and must meet annual gold input requirements (Flagship Store ≥ 200 kg per year, Boutique Store ≥ 100 kg per year).
  • The operations team handles daily sales, inventory management, customer reception, order processing, and after sales service.
  • All service staff receive Arabic language training and Middle East business etiquette training. Merchants can remotely view sales and inventory status via a dedicated system.

How do you ensure product security? Is there professional storage?

We operate a 24 hour smart security system and a professional managed vault for valuables. Key measures include:

  • Stores are equipped with blast resistant glass, infrared alarms, and real time CCTV monitoring.
  • Outside business hours, goods can be stored in dedicated safes or in the centralized managed vault. Vault staff are certified, and all inbound and outbound handling is fully recorded with video audit trails.

Merchants may choose whether to purchase third party cargo insurance.

Culture and Lifestyle Amenities

Will the project include prayer rooms? Will food and beverage meet halal standards?

Yes. We take the religious and lifestyle needs of Middle East guests seriously.

All public signage and wayfinding systems support Arabic.

Within the 1,000 m² Middle East dedicated amenities zone, there is a separate prayer room with orientation designed to meet Islamic practice requirements.

Partnered food and beverage operators hold halal certification and can provide delivery services. Menus follow Islamic dietary guidelines.

Convenience retail will carry Middle East specialty foods, beverages, and daily necessities.

If my family travels with me, can you help with schooling for children or medical needs?

Through the “Middle East Merchant Service Center”, we can provide assistance with:

Local living guidance: transportation, shopping, religious venues, and more.

Support with residence permits and visa extension procedures.

Information referrals for nearby international schools and bilingual kindergartens.

Connection to designated hospitals and international patient medical service resources.

Traffic, Marketing, and Future Growth

How will the project bring buyers to merchants? What promotional resources are available?

We drive traffic for merchants through three primary channels:

Full funnel digital marketing: a multilingual online showroom will launch in 2026, complemented by cross border livestreaming and social media campaigns to expand buyer reach.

Lighting Fair linkage: every spring, the “Guzhen International Lighting Fair” attracts more than 100,000 global buyers, including over 20,000 Middle East purchasers. We will organize dedicated matchmaking sessions.

In house brand traffic: THE Moon and Thaj Gold operate as dual flagships, sharing customer flow and co hosting promotional campaigns.

Will the project expand to other cities or countries in the future?

Moon Jewellery Group is committed to the long term vision of “building a global Arab jewellery industry ecosystem”. The Zhongshan project is the first flagship hub. Whether we expand to cities such as Dubai, Riyadh, and Istanbul will be determined by operational performance and market feedback. Early stage merchants in Phase 1 will receive priority consideration for future expansion projects, subject to evaluation.
